DETERMINATION
By niknak.

game 2 was against still in my eyes the team to beat whiston, but a game i have
been looking forward to be part of since last season ended, the game between
saints and whiston have been contested strongly for 3 seasons and this season
is not going to be any change, saints had the bit between thier teeth and
started brill, shape was good, tackles were good and play was quick, saints
should have had 3 goals in the first half but bad last touches just let the
ball to the whiston keeper, he also made a great save, the cat saved a few long
range shots but the saints got the deserved goal through wilson, a player who
whiston could have signed but chose not to( thankfully), a nice piece of
football played which jack skipped passed trailing legs and crossed a fizzer
low which wilson slotted in, second half and just to show how unbiased i am,
whiston threw everything at the saints and was on top for most of the half, and if they had scored it would have prob been whiston who went on to win the game
saints did have chances of counter attacks  and could have got a second through
james as he sent one wide on another occasion whistons keeper pulled off a great
save  but it was down to the saints defence of chris, the cat and man of the
match lewis finch who had his best game in the red and white shirt, what a
player this lad  is turning out to be, it was down to these 3 that saints hung
on and deserved the 3 points not the academy players, sorry the center of
excellence players which burnley has allowed to play,( stated in thier letter )
it allways suprises me when opposition players and managers refer to certain
players when mini soccer is played by 7 or squads of 10, i suppose im old
fashioned and think of football as a team game, lots of action in the second
half and it was a great game and as i say whiston are the team which eveyone
wants to beat, thats the biggest compliment a team could have.

man of match every player was fantastic for the game and concentration was first class but lewis finch had his best game in a saints shirt well done lewis
