Billinge 0 v Saints 1

Saints produced a fine battling display today and deservedly won 1-0 against a very strong Billinge team. Time after time we attacked. This was a fine disciplined display from us today with every player playing really well.

The defence of Lewis Y, James, and led by todays captain Lewis C were superb, constantly breaking any attacking threat from Billinge up, with poor Joe hardly touching the ball in the bitter cold.

The midfield three of Ben, Lance and Dan passed the ball about really well for no reward, and on another day all 3 could of found themselves on the scoresheet, and could of easily increased our winning margin.

The front 2 of Harri and Ry both played great, both being a constant treat with their pace and positional play, and the only goal today fell to Ry who broke free of his defender turning swiftly in the box and slotting his shot cooly to the side of their goalie for our only goal of today.

The moment of the match came to Ry, whose goal celebration was the best we have seen this season. Team mates you now have something to follow !

My man of the match today could of gone to any of our outfield players today, but in the end I gave it this week to Lewis C, who had a fine game in defence in the first half, and when switched to centre midfield in the second half had a stormer.
