Relegation Battle Starts with a much needed win
By S Leather.

The under 14s needed to battle hard and forget about the woes of last weeks performance. This week was a big game for us against a team also struggling to find form in Appleton.

The game was evenly balance for much of the 1st half and if wasnt for one of the saves of the season from Tom Henley the game could of been much different, the 1st save came from a one on one with the forward which he saved with his feet, but get up an brilliantly save the 2nd shot and to hold onto it would of made most premiership keepers pleased with the save.

The opening goal came from OHanlon after some good work to win the ball from Moville who then thread Spencer a throughball, and he did well to beat on man and send in a cross into the box, on route it took a slight deflection and allowed OHanlon for any easy tap in. 1 -0

In the second half, the team stepped up a gear and introduced Fenny, Halligan and OBrien to the game. All three contributed well and it was Halligan who linked up well with Obrien and Denning before Halligan created some space and neatly passed a ball to the side when he could of easily had a shot, great thinking that drew out the keeper and allowed spencer to side foot the ball home for a much needed win.

MoM went to Ciaran Spencer for his hard work, good touches and setting up the first goal and was finally rewarded with his goal.
