Saints today entertained Rainford who we have not played for some 18mths due to Cancelled Matches, so we new little about each other.
Saints started well however we played some loose passes and held on to the ball to long at times.
Most of the football was played in the Rainford half of the pitch and we created a number of chances however the Rainford Keeper made some Great Saves.
We eventually broke the Deadlock through Douglas who got on to the end of another blocked shot form the Rainford Keeper.
Half Time 1-0 - I was a little dissapointed that we only got 1 Goal in the 1st Half and had our passing game been better we could have created more shots on target.
We soon got our 2nd from Bobby with a Rocket from outside the box, the passing improved and we started to spread the ball around the field creating more space.
Ross grabbed our third as Bobby unselfishley squared the ball for a tap in.
Bobby grabbed our last and final goal of the morning.
Final Score 4 - 0
We moved players about the pitch today in different positions and also give Tiler 30 minutes as we still try to bed him into our style of play.
Special Mentions - Bobby Walker - When he arrivedat Saints he was guilty of holding onto the ball at times when other players had space, today he showed he has improved is overall game by getting his head up and making some great passes. A well deserved Man Of Match.
Jamie Little - Made some great interceptions and some great runs down the Right Wing - Again Well Done.
Scot Leyland - Played Today in Goal - And then out for the last 10 - Scot always happy to help out when needed for the vital position.
Rainford Keeper - Another Great Game.
Saints are 5 Points clear at the top of the table from Billinge and 7 Points clear of Whiston - Both Teams have a game in hand.
WE ARE ONLY HALF WAY THROUGH THE LEAGUE AND HAVE A LOT OF FOOTBALL TO PLAY AGAINST A LOT OF VERY GOOD TEAMS - YES WE ARE IN A VERY GOOD POSITION BUT WE MUST CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME AND THE NEXT 3 POINTS.
Sunday - We are invited to Finch Farm to play Everton -We will give all players plenty of football over the hour we play.
Training Tuesday 6.pm - Subs Due -
